Understanding Israel Today — A Congregational Journey

This February, we invite you to join a thoughtful and timely journey through Israel. More than two years after the momentous rupture of 7 October 2023, Israel is beginning to look ahead — rebuilding, re-imagining, and reassessing what comes next. Our trip is designed to help us understand this moment with clarity, curiosity and care.

- Fly to Tel Aviv (please arrange a flight with the airline of your choice)
- 8pm meet the group for welcome drinks at the Port Tower Hotel Tel Aviv
24 February

- Visit to Haifa and the Leo Baeck Education Center as well as an opportunity to learn about life in the North of Israel
- Meet with members of Reform congregation Tefillat Ha-adam and visit the important archeological sight of Caesarea
- Evening in Tel Aviv
25 February

- Tour the Supreme Court in Jerusalem with Orly Erez-Likhovski, director of the Israel Religious Action Centre
- Visit the National Library of Israel and the National Hall For Israel’s Fallen
- Evening in Tel Aviv
26 February

- Explore how Israel memorialises 7 Oct by visiting sites in the South
- Return to Tel Aviv to explore the traces of commemoration there
27 February

- Fly back to London (please arrange a flight with the airline of your choice)
Practical Details

- Participants will book their own flights to Israel and book their accomodation directly with the hotel. We encourage participants to stay at the Port Tower Hotel Tel Aviv, which will be our base during the trip.
- We also strongly encourage participants to buy adequate travel insurance coverage.
Cost

- We anticipate a cost of up to £450 per person (the exact cost will depend on the group size) for the programme, ground transportation (excl airport transfers) and lunch.
