Witness, Engage, Reflect: A Congregational Trip to Israel

21 – 26 May 2025

Experience Israel at a pivotal moment in history. Join our congregational trip from 21 to 26 May, featuring powerful encounters with survivors, thought-provoking discussions on Israel’s future, and the chance to celebrate Shabbat with the Israel Reform movement. Explore Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, visit the South and reflect on what tomorrow holds for Israel and the Jewish people.

Itinerary overview (subject to change)

21 May

    • Fly to Tel Aviv (Rabbi Lea will be travelling on flight LY312 leaving Luton at 9:45am but you can arrange a flight with the airline of your choice)
    • 8pm meet the group for welcome drinks at the Port Tower Hotel Tel Aviv

22 May

    • 7:30am depart from hotel for a full-day excursion to the south: October 7 and its aftermath (incl sight visits/encounters with survivors)
    • 6pm return to Tel Aviv to reflect on our experiences

23 May

    • 8:30am depart from hotel for our programme in Tel Aviv: Understanding Israel today
    • 5pm join the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism for Shabbat service and dinner

24 May

    • Shabbat morning services in Tel Aviv and enjoying Shabbat
    • 7pm join the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism for Havdallah

25 May

    • 8am depart from hotel for our programme in Jerusalem: What will tomorrow bring?
    • Return to Tel Aviv or stay on in Jerusalem for your own programme

26 May

    • Fly back to London (Rabbi Lea will be travelling on flight LY317 to London Heathrow leaving Tel Aviv at 5pm but you can arrange a flight with the airline of your choice)

Practical Details

    • Participants will book their own flights to Israel. We also strongly encourage participants to buy adequate travel insurance coverage.
    • The group will stay at the Port Tower Hotel Tel Aviv from 21 – 2 May.

Cost

    • We anticipate a cost of up to £1,150 per person (in double room) for 5-nights bed and breakfast, programming and ground transportation (excl airport transfers).
    • There will be a single room supplement of £300 per person.
    • Participants can also chose to book directly with the hotel or book alternative accomodation. Cost for excursions will vary depending on the day but the total for all will not exceed £600 per person.
